Charity - African Wildlife Foundation
The African Wildlife Foundations mission is to ensure wildlife and wildlands thrive in modern Africa. They plan on working to achieve this by community empowerment, an important part of wildlife protection is people - if people and wildlife learn to live together, inside and outside protected areas the future for all will thrive.
A lot of species in African are on the border line of extinction, including the mountain gorilla, grevy's zebra and ethiopian wolf. To protect populations from further decline, their on-the-ground safeguards, involve training rangers and using sniffer dogs to stop wildlife traffickers.
Africa's wildlife isn't confined to national parks. Species roam across vast land, this is why land is core to the African Wildlife Foundations conservation efforts. By working in large areas, this gives them chance to offer people economic opportunity. In turn this improves the lives of local people, helping their community and saves wildlife simultaneously. The solutions to some community problems are jobs, conservation training, educational opportunities and ultimately the opportunity for people to better their own lives while caring for wildlife wellbeing.
